This was a rather cheap softwood chest of drawers (commonly available in craft shops). The client had an idea in her mind for an outrageous trinket box inspired by memories of her grandmother's house back in Hungary. Working from her description, a few sketches and a mood board this is what was produced. Happily she declared it perfect!
This was again originally a cheap softwood craft box. The box was to hold Sumac ( a middle eastern spice) and picture of his kitchen inspired this deep rich design.
The previous box was so admired by his girlfriend (now his wife) that this was a personalised pencil box commissioned as her birthday present.
Finished locker door in situ. Others to come!
The Magnolia door laid out in pencil with the stain wax already applied.
